About Tropical Marine Centre

As a trusted trade supplier, we provide aquarium shops with high-quality marine fish, corals, and invertebrates. Our commitment to ethical sourcing, hand-and-net-only collection, and best-in-class acclimation procedures ensures that every animal is delivered in optimal health.
About the Role
We are looking for a German-speaking Sales & Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Loures. This is a genuinely hybrid position: you will spend part of your time managing and supporting our German-speaking livestock customers; handling orders, enquiries, and relationship building and part of your time working alongside our warehouse team on picking, packing, and maintaining our cash and carry area.
While the primary focus of the sales element is on our German-speaking customers, you will also assist other European customers as part of our international customer service and sales team. The warehouse element is an integral part of the role and we are looking for someone who takes the same pride in a well-organised, efficiently run warehouse as they do in a well-served customer.
Key Responsibilities — Sales & Customer Service
• Assisting customers with their livestock orders and enquiries across Europe, with a primary focus on German-speaking accounts
• Providing excellent customer support via phone and email in German
• Resolving issues and handling complaints with professionalism and efficiency
• Maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients and trading partners
• Working closely with the global Sales team to meet financial targets in terms of sales and profitability
• Helping to promote sales, control costs, retain existing customers, and develop new business opportunities
• Supporting online sales activities, including capturing orders and stimulating sales through deals and online incentives
• Occasionally travelling to Germany and other European countries for customer visits and trade events
Key Responsibilities — Warehouse & Cash and Carry
• Accurate picking and packing of dry goods orders in line with daily dispatch schedules
• Maintaining the organisation, cleanliness, and presentation of the cash and carry area, including correct stock rotation and shelf-facing
• Assisting with goods-in, putaway, and general warehouse housekeeping
• Flagging stock discrepancies, damage, or shortfalls promptly to the warehouse supervisor
• Supporting the team at peak periods to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For
• Strong German language skills, spoken and written — this is essential
• Experience in customer service, sales support, or client relations
• Comfortable and confident working in a physical warehouse environment alongside desk-based duties
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Methodical and accurate — attention to detail matters as much on the pick-list as it does on the phone
• Ability to manage enquiries with a professional, customer-focused approach
• Experience in the aquarium, pet, or animal care industry is a plus — but full product training will be provided
Why Join Us?
• Work with a company passionate about marine life and sustainability, with over 50 years of expertise
• Be part of an international team serving customers across Europe in a growing industry
• A varied day — no two days are quite the same when you move between customer relationships and warehouse operations
How to Apply
If you have German language skills, enjoy working with customers, and are happy to roll up your sleeves in a warehouse environment, we’d love to hear from you.
