. Remote Data Abstractor (Epic) Overview
Seeking experienced Data Abstractors with hands-on Epic EMR experience to support clinical data abstraction. This role focuses on accurately abstracting future orders, patient histories, and PAMI (Pre-Admission Medication Information) into Epic from various legacy EHR systems. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment while meeting daily productivity and quality measures. Responsibilities:

  • Abstract and enter data into Epic with high accuracy
  • Review patient charts and extract:
    • Future orders (labs, imaging, procedures)
    • Patient histories (medical, surgical, social, family)
    • PAMI/medication reconciliation data
  • Ensure data quality, completeness, and adherence to project standards
  • Meet productivity and accuracy targets; submit daily productivity reports in project tracker
  • Flag discrepancies and communicate with project leads and QA leads
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven Epic EMR experience
  • Prior healthcare data abstraction experience
  • Experience abstracting future orders, histories, and PAMI data
  • Strong knowledge of clinical terminology and workflows
  • Intermediate (or higher) Microsoft Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently

Preferred:

  • Clinical background (RN, LPN, MA, etc.)
  • Epic go-live or data migration experience
  • Exposure to modules such as Orders, ClinDoc, Ambulatory, ASAP
  • Advanced/Expert Microsoft Excel skills

Details:

  • 100% Remote
  • Type: Contract (40 hours/week)
  • Hours: Ideally during EST business hours Mon-Fri; some overtime may be permitted
  • Duration: TBD (multiple contract opportunities throughout 2026)
  • Must have secure workspace and reliable internet
